We moved most of our stuff into this locker in November of 2010, and most of it is there now.

Then, the landlady sent me an email stating that she wouldn't give me the $150 until my apartment passed the Section 8 inspection.
Hmmmm --- but that was precisely WHY I needed the $150. Therefore, it was precisely WHY I'd signed the lease extension at all, when I hoped to move out of Valley View. We got evicted on November 19, and had to be out by Wednesday, November 24th, the day before Thanksgiving. We got as much stuff as possible out of the apartment by that date. My son and I borrowed money from a relative to rent a U-Haul and get as much as possible into a storage locker. The kitties had to stay with their veterinarian for a month. The boarding fee for that was about the same as my monthly Social Security check. (Ca. $800.) Please keep us in your prayers or thoughts. |

Update: October, 2014
My son has a tiny room of his own, but I am still homeless. Jason will be living in that tiny room very soon. He is still at a relative's house.
Next month, it will be four solid years I have been homeless. I turned sixty-six in February of this year.
There is not much help for us without our Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, which we lost due to FRED's lies. We'd had our voucher since 1993.
Not signing a new lease is grounds for terminating the voucher.
Of course, we did not refuse to sign a new lease. FRED did, and then lied to the housing authority, claiming we refused to sign their 30-day lease. FRED lied to the court, as well. That was how they fooled the court into evicting us.
But, there was no mention of a 30-day lease until after I filed my small claims action against FRED for the $150 they owed me. And, they never even bothered to return my signed lease form to me. They never even told me the $150 offer was no longer valid.
The first I heard of that fraudulent cover story was Thursday, October 28, 2010. (I had signed and returned the lease renewal form on August 12, 20104.)
If that sounds like fraud ---- There's a reason for that.
We were entitled to an informal hearing before termination of our voucher from the housing authority, but we never got that either. They claimed they had notified me via email.
Does that also sound like fraud?
There's a reason for that.
