What Happened in 2010 and Beyond?
Another page in this website tells a little bit about my history with Valley View / FRED between two thousand and one (2001), when we first moved in, and 2009.
This page --- i.e., the one you are on now --- starts in 2010, when the current legal nonsense came about.
Unfortunately, the nonsense has made me homeless for two years, so far. At least, Becky and Jason and my son now have a place to live, though.

In 2010, Valley View offered a Bonus
But, in order to get the bonus, I'd have to sign and return the renewal lease about ten weeks early.
Since I really wanted to leave Valley View, I did not sign that early renewal. But, then, on August 5, the Dane County Housing Authority inspector --- as part of HUD's annual renewal process --- |
said I would have to take care of a feline "problem" with my carpet.
I would have thirty days to pass the inspection, or lose my Section 8 HUD Voucher. I would have to purchase some of the expensive enzymatic odor neutralizer for felines. I knew this enzymatic stuff worked, because I'd been using it ever since I moved in at Valley View. (The kitties' leaks had not just started in 2010.) I couldn't afford to lose my Section 8 Voucher, so I had to sign that Valley View renewal. |
"No Bonus Until You Pass the Dane County Inspection"
Valley View had paid me a bonus in 2008 and in 2009. I usually received the bonus the day after I signed the early lease renewal.
On August 17, 2010, I sent Valley View an email asking when I would receive the bonus for 2010:
Valley View's email reply was:
But that was not a part of their original offer. The original offer had said nothing about the Dane County Housing Authority. I only wanted the bonus from Valley View IN ORDER TO pass the Dane County Housing inspection. |
