The Supreme Court sent my Petition back to the circuit court --- which means they won't be hearing the case(s) --- as of May 13. I just got the notice this week, at my General Delivery.

This is just a very very sad story....I feel really bad for you and I do honor the struggle you have endured to try and make a difference for poor folks without a voice...I am sorry this injustice has happened to you and I don't know how the folks at FRED can sleep at night knowing their actions have put someone out on the street. About the AuthorI have lived in the Madison area since 1983 --- mostly in Madison proper, except for the nine years at Valley View, which is in Fitchburg. I'm a mom, grandma, homeless bag lady, and part-time student at MATC. I'm homeless because FRED deprived me of my home in 2010, even though my son and I --- and Becky and Jason --- were all good, solid, long-term residents. But, I also feel that it is important to stop this type of wrongdoing. The attorneys and the landlord involved here feel confident that they can do anything they want to a poor person because they will never be held accountable. They believe that no poor person can ever fight back in court, because we can't afford lawyers. (The incompetent hack "lawyers" who work for the "free" law firms won't do anything except coerce us into waiving our rights by signing an "agreement". That attitude tends to increase the smarmy, patronizing arrogance of some attorneys and landlords. I don't say all attorneys and landlords, because most of them are good.) Therefore, I owe it to other poor folks to do my part.
Who knows how many good tenants like me were made homeless because of slimeball, sleazy "legal" strategies. It's another cause of homelessness --- one that you rarely hear about. Archives
